Our City. Our Money. Our Future!
Brampton is a strong, growing city with hardworking people and big potential. I am Idris Orughu, & I am running for Regional Council (Wards 1 and 5) to be your voice. I am your neighbour, and I have spent 15 years fighting for fairness in our schools & better services for our neighbourhoods. To me, “Our City, Our Money, Our Future” means that every dollar you pay in taxes should go toward making your life better. With the right leadership, we can protect our money, improve our services, and build a city we are proud of. I have a clear, practical plan to move Brampton forward.
Our City: Build and Protect
As a community advocate, I am in our neighbourhoods every day speaking directly with residents, listening to their concerns, and seeing firsthand the challenges our City is facing. From safety and infrastructure to City services, I see exactly where the gaps are. I am committed to turning these real experiences into clear action to ensure we are building a safer Brampton.
Key Issues Facing Our City
- Community safety concerns in neighbourhoods and public spaces
- Strain on roads, parks, and infrastructure due to rapid growth
- Inconsistent by-law enforcement on noise, property standards, and overcrowding
- Pressure on City services, leading to delays and uneven service delivery
- Need for stronger focus on neighbourhood upkeep and downtown revitalisation

Overall, these challenges reflect a city growing quickly and the need to ensure services, safety, and infrastructure grow with it.
